Drilling of steel balls is often encountered in the machining process, often in small batch production. It is not economical to design and manufacture special drills. To this end, I designed a high precision and adaptable drill according to the principle of taper surface positioning of the spherical workpiece (as shown). The die drill sleeve 3 and the die outer cover body 2 can be matched by H7/P6. After the die outer cover body 2 and the die support body 1 are pressed against the workpiece, the fastening screw 4 is tightened to drill the hole. The outer diameter of the drill support 1 is matched with the inner hole of the outer casing 2 by H7/h6.
