Nanjing's first restaurant kitchen waste fertilizer plant construction

The reporter was informed that Nanjing's first restaurant-kitchen waste disposal plant recently started construction in Banqiao Street, Yuhuatai District, with a total investment of more than 70 million yuan. It will handle 100 tons of kitchen waste daily after its completion. It is expected to test run in May next year.

The kitchen waste processing plant is located south of Xiaohebei Road in Banqiao Street. It has a total construction area of ​​4,950 square meters. It uses microbiological processing of fertilizer technology to recycle food waste.

Food and kitchen waste refers specifically to restaurants and canteens containing leftovers with high fat content. How to turn waste into treasure? According to the technical personnel, after the food waste is sent to the kitchen waste treatment plant by a dedicated closed transport vehicle, it first enters the pretreatment workshop and is sent to the automatic sorter after breaking the bag. Sorted food waste is dewatered by pressing and then loaded into a container and sent to a biochemical processor by special equipment. Subsequently, through the incorporation of a certain proportion of high-temperature compound microbial protobacteria and adjustment materials, biochemical treatment, restaurant food waste is made into a "primary product" of biological fertilizer with a moisture content of less than 13%. After screening and smashing, it becomes a real biological fertilizer.

This biofertilizer can be used alone, or it can be further processed into organic-inorganic compound fertilizers, bio-organic fertilizers, microbial fertilizers, etc. to meet different market demands.

The separate disposal of kitchen waste is an important part of waste classification. **People introduced that the moisture content of restaurant-kitchen garbage accounts for about 80%. If it is mixed with other household waste and burned, it will not only meet the calorific value of waste incineration power generation, but it will lead to incinerator burning and resulting in toxic and harmful gases. Therefore, the separate disposal of restaurant-kitchen-garbage for standardization will facilitate the classification and treatment of other wastes such as incineration and power generation.

The construction of the first kitchen-kitchen waste treatment plant means that the city's restaurant-kitchen-garbage waste sorting and treatment “broken questions”. At present, the city produces about 670 tons of restaurant-kitchen garbage per day.
