Low-volume spray technology involves applying a concentrated pesticide solution without significant dilution, which drastically reduces water usage—typically by 1/5 to 1/10 compared to traditional spraying methods. However, the effectiveness of this technique is limited by the physical properties of droplet adhesion. When the amount of sprayed liquid exceeds an optimal threshold, fine droplets tend to coalesce into larger drops, which then roll off the leaf surface, leading to reduced pesticide retention and lower efficacy.
To address this challenge, electrostatic spray technology has been developed. This method enhances the deposition of liquid droplets on both the upper and lower surfaces of leaves, as well as hard-to-reach areas of the plant. By using electrically charged droplets, the technology improves the coverage and adherence of pesticides, increasing their effective utilization rate to as high as 90%.
Another innovative approach is the pelletizing and application technique, particularly suitable for water-soluble pesticides used in paddy fields. This method involves converting the pesticide into small, solid pellets that can be evenly distributed across the field. The process not only boosts working efficiency by up to ten times but also eliminates the risk of pesticide drift, thereby protecting neighboring crops from contamination.
These advancements in pesticide application technologies represent a significant step forward in improving agricultural efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring safer and more sustainable farming practices.
