First Quarter Hard Hat Product Quality Inspection in Anhui on a "Black List"

This round of testing involved 80 batches of hard hats collected from 10 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing and Anhui. A total of 12 key indicators were evaluated, such as impact absorption performance under high temperature, low temperature, and water immersion conditions, as well as puncture resistance. Out of these, six products failed the tests. Among them, a hard hat manufactured by Huaibei Xingguang Lighting Technology Co., Ltd. on December 4, 2013, with specifications for a "special plastic (anti-static, flame-retardant) mine safety helmet," failed three critical tests: high temperature impact absorption, water immersion impact absorption, and low temperature puncture resistance.

Hard hats are classified as essential labor protection equipment by the state and are subject to an industrial product production license system and a safety mark certification process. The impact absorption performance of a helmet refers to its ability to absorb part of the force from falling objects, thus reducing the risk of injury to the wearer's neck. This feature is considered the primary safety function of a helmet and directly affects the personal safety of the user. If the shell or inner lining of the helmet fails to meet strength requirements, it could result in a complete failure of the protective function.
