Today marks a significant milestone as we unveil the stunning spa bath renovation we’ve been diligently working on for several months now. It’s hard to put into words just how much effort went into making this transformation happen, but the end result speaks volumes. Let’s take a moment to revisit the original state of the bathroom and the challenges we encountered along the way. Our client fell in love with her new home after years of searching. While the house came equipped with most of the features she desired, the master bath was far from ideal. She envisioned a serene spa retreat complete with a spacious shower, a deep soaking tub, ample storage, and excellent lighting. Most importantly, she dreamed of a tranquil sanctuary to unwind after a long day at work. What she initially received was a large, yet poorly utilized space that felt gloomy and uninspiring. The existing shower configuration was awkward, there was no tub, and the cabinetry lacked functionality. Clearly, this wasn’t the spa oasis she had hoped for. Given these circumstances, this project required a full bathroom remodel. Despite this, we managed to preserve some elements—like the elegant crown molding and the sliding French doors, which provided breathtaking views of the surrounding forest. Additionally, the room’s layout was already well-suited for our vision, with a separate water closet and clothing storage area. With these considerations in mind, our goal was to turn this lackluster space into a tranquil retreat that harmonized with the natural beauty of its woodland setting while fulfilling all the luxurious features our client desired. The first step was developing a fresh floor plan. Although the room was expansive, much of the space was underutilized, and storage solutions were lacking. Our revised layout kept the water closet in its original location but introduced a large soaking tub where the old shower stood. This change allows for leisurely baths with a view of the sky and the forest beyond. Meanwhile, the redesigned shower features a built-in bench for relaxation and a ledge extending outward to the tub—a perfect spot for placing a glass of wine, your phone, or any other essentials needed for a spa-like experience. Next, we tackled the vanity area. Our new design improved both the aesthetics and functionality of the vanity, adding ample storage and incorporating a seating area for easier makeup application. A comfortable dressing chair was also included. In the master closet, we created an organized space with an island for storage, numerous hanging spaces, drawers, and shelves for clothes and shoes, ensuring there was enough room for future additions. When it came to materials and finishes, we focused on creating a calming atmosphere with colors and textures reminiscent of the woodland environment. A sky-and-water motif guided our choices, ensuring the space felt serene yet sophisticated. Natural materials were selected to maintain an organic feel without being overly ornate. Our client sought a tranquil space to start and end her day, and the correct material selection was key to achieving this goal. And now, the reveal! The once-dull bathroom has been transformed into a luxurious master bath retreat fit for a five-star resort. A more efficient layout, exquisite materials, and abundant storage make this bath a place our client never wants to leave. The centerpiece of the room is a striking green marble wall in a wavy pattern, echoing the nearby mountains and ocean waves. By extending the tile across the entire length of the room, we created not only a stunning shower wall but also a dramatic backdrop for the therapeutic air tub we installed. The shower is equipped with both a fixed showerhead and a handheld option, complemented by body jets that provide a rejuvenating massage. A natural quartz ledge serving as a bench in the shower flows seamlessly into a curved ledge for the air tub. Overhead, a bubbling chandelier adds ambiance and reflects the room's water and sky theme. The porcelain tile mimics the look of sandy beaches, evoking memories of seaside strolls. Opposite the tub, the vanity boasts an elegant limed oak finish—elegant yet understated, offering a tactile contrast to the room's smooth surfaces. The same natural quartz used in the shower reappears here as a practical countertop. Polished nickel sconces with paper shades, faucets, and cabinet hardware add subtle sparkle to the serene space. Mirrors with a simulated bone finish introduce texture and an organic vibe. The fabric choices for the drapes and chair further enhance the connection to nature, providing comfort and softness to the spa-like retreat. Lastly, the master closet underwent a complete transformation. From basic wire shelving and rods, we crafted a functional and inviting space with dramatic lighting, an island, mirrored doors, and ample hanging and drawer space. This closet not only streamlines organization but also complements the stylish aesthetic of the newly renovated bath. In the end, our client couldn’t be happier with the outcome. She revels in the tranquility of her new bath, whether soaking in the tub or enjoying the shower. What began as an uninspired, dim space has evolved into a calming, nature-inspired spa retreat that perfectly matches her practical and elegant vision.
