Acceptance Specifications for the Inspection of Suspended Ceilings Made of Gypsum Board and Plywood
(1) Essential Requirements
The materials, types, specifications, and structural design of the suspended ceiling panels, along with their fastening methods, must adhere strictly to the design requirements and relevant national standards. The installation of either light steel keels or wooden frames must follow the guidelines outlined in Chapter II of this standard. Wooden frames and plywood must undergo proper fireproofing treatments in compliance with applicable regulations. The connection between the panels and the framework must be secure and tight. Equipment outlets and lighting fixtures must be symmetrically positioned relative to the panels, ensuring an aesthetically pleasing and practical layout. The edges of these openings should be clean and well-finished, with tight-fitting trim pieces. Overall, the arrangement must appear straight, tidy, and visually appealing.
Inspection Method: Visual inspection, use of a measuring tape, tactile assessment.
(2) Standard Requirements
The surface quality of the suspended ceiling panels should meet the following criteria:
- **Qualified**: The surface should be smooth, with appropriate arching, uniform coloring, free from dirt, stains, rust, pits, or hammer marks. No exposed nail heads should be visible.
- **Excellent**: In addition to meeting the above conditions, the self-tapping screws should be evenly spaced and there should be no exposed nail heads or cracks.
The quality of the joints and beadings in the panels must also comply with the following:
- **Qualified**: The joints should be even and narrow, aligned with the keel, straight, and without warping. They should be smooth, tight, and free from leaks. The yin-yang corners should be properly formed.
- **Excellent**: Beyond the qualified criteria, the joints should be evenly spaced, straight, uniformly wide, smooth, and completely leak-proof. The yin-yang corners should be perfectly square.
For shaped elements:
- **Qualified**: The dimensions and positions should be accurate, with a snug and smooth closure.
- **Excellent**: The dimensions and positions should be precise, the closure smooth, and the curves elegant and graceful.
Inspection Methods: Visual inspection, use of a ruler.
