Shanxi wind power grid installed capacity exceeds 2.0 million kilowatts On December 15, two new wind power plants in Quzhou, Shanxi Province, were officially connected to the grid and began generating electricity. This milestone marked a significant step forward for renewable energy development in the region, as the total installed capacity of wind power in Shanxi now reached 2.025 million kilowatts. The recent approval by the Shanxi Economic and Information Technology Commission allowed two major wind projects to come online: the third phase of the Zuoyu Gaojiabao Power Plant, featuring 33 wind turbines each with a capacity of 1.5 MW, and the second phase of the Pinglu District Hutoushan Wind Power Project, also consisting of 33×1.5 MW units. Both projects were completed and commissioned on the same day, showcasing the rapid progress being made in clean energy infrastructure. The Gaojiabao Phase III project had a total dynamic investment of 40.25 million yuan, while the Hutoushan Phase II project required an investment of 39.524 million yuan. These investments not only reflect the growing importance of wind energy in Shanxi's energy mix but also highlight the government's commitment to sustainable development. With these two new units now operational, the province’s wind power grid-connected capacity has crossed the 2 million kilowatt threshold, positioning Shanxi as a key player in China's renewable energy sector. As more projects come online, the region is expected to continue playing a vital role in the national transition toward cleaner and greener energy sources.
