The steel market has entered a volatile phase, with cost support continuing to rise. As the Central Economic Work Conference set the tone for the upcoming year, emphasizing "steady progress," the domestic economy is expected to maintain stability. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has responded positively to the impact of large-scale infrastructure projects, which have led to a rapid pull-up in the steel market. However, due to the seasonal demand low season, trading volumes remain light, and traders are not eager to build winter reserves. Some product specifications have seen slight corrections. Despite this, the market remains optimistic, and it is expected that the domestic steel market will experience a short-term upward trend. According to the Lange Steel Information Research Center's weekly price forecast model, prices are projected to rise slightly this week (December 24–28, 2012). The long product market is expected to see a modest increase, while the plate market may fluctuate. The Lange Steel Composite Index is expected to hover around 149.1, with an average steel price of about 3,880 yuan per ton and a volatility of approximately 30 yuan. The long product index is expected to reach 162.6, up by 0.7 points, while the sheet index is projected to be around 132.7, also rising slightly. Market surveys indicate that raw material prices are on a steady upward trend. Iron ore prices are expected to rise by 20 yuan, coke prices will remain stable, scrap prices are anticipated to increase by 50 yuan, and billet prices are expected to go up by 30 yuan. Looking back at the 51st week of 2012 (December 17–21), the Lange Steel Composite Price Index reached 148.4, marking a 1.01% weekly increase and a 12.93% decrease from the same period last year. The long product index was 161.9, up 0.98% week-on-week, while the sheet index stood at 132, up 1.06%. Among 44 standard steel products monitored, 28 varieties saw price increases, 7 remained flat, and 9 declined. Steel inventories across the country dropped again during the 51st week. Total steel inventory in 29 key cities fell by 67,000 tons to 11.7495 million tons. Wire rod, rebar, and hot-rolled coil stocks decreased, while panluo and cold-rolled coils saw minor increases. The steel market experienced a sideways movement during the 51st week, with rebar prices remaining stable. The main contract saw a slight decline in volume, indicating cautious investor behavior. Market participants are closely watching how price movements affect positions. Macroeconomic factors continue to influence steel prices. In November, industrial electricity consumption rose significantly, driven by heavy industries. Fiscal policies in 2013 are expected to boost urbanization through increased investment. The central bank plans to continue its prudent monetary policy and deepen financial reforms. Industry news shows that crude steel production in early December fell slightly, but key steelmakers maintained a monthly increase. Thailand initiated an anti-dumping investigation against Chinese high-carbon steel rods. Downstream demand, particularly in transportation and construction, showed signs of recovery. Shipbuilding indicators declined year-on-year, reflecting weak demand. Meanwhile, wind power projects in 16 provinces were approved, signaling growth in renewable energy. The National Development and Reform Commission also announced new infrastructure projects, including railway and power grid developments, further supporting economic growth. Overall, the steel market remains in a delicate balance, with short-term optimism tempered by seasonal weakness and global trade concerns. Investors and industry players are advised to stay alert to both macroeconomic signals and local market dynamics.

Rod Cylinder Lens

Rod cylinder Lens is polished on the circumference and ground on both ends. Optical performance is similar to a Cylindrical Lens . Collimated light passing through the diameter of the rod cylinder lens will be focused into a line. N-BK7 and UV Fused Silica substrates are available for a variety of UV, Visible and NIR applications. Also we supply kinds of Plano-Convex Cylindrical Lens,Plano-Concave Cylinder Lens,Double-Convex Cylinder Lens,Double-concave Cylinder Lens, Meniscus Cylinder Lens ,Rod cylinder lens, special cylindrical lens etc. these cylindrical lens and components are available in a range of micro sizes for integration into a host of OEM applications.

Custom sizes, variations in polishing/ ground surfaces and additional coatings on cylindrical lens are available upon request, please contact our Sales Department for details.
