By using flat frame structure with three mounting surfaces, this series of traction machines can be installed on bottom floor or any middle positions or on the top of shaft way.
In order to manage the summer heat and prevent diseases, it is recommended to water the plants in the morning and evening. After moistening the soil, drain the surface to avoid excessive humidity and root diseases. The soil should remain consistently moist. Apply fertilizer together with irrigation. Ten days after planting, combine weeding and cultivation with a 3% compound fertilizer solution. When the first ear of fruit reaches the size of a walnut, apply 10 kg of urea per mu. When the third ear stabilizes, another 10 kg of urea can be applied.
Pruning is essential during the autumn season when tomato plants grow rapidly. Use the single-stalk pruning method by keeping only the main stalk and removing all side branches and foot buds. Place a herringbone frame to prevent the plants from falling over. At the end of September, remove the growing tip and leave three spikes of fruit, retaining 3-4 fruits per ear. Remove other fruits to enhance the quality of the tomatoes.
Proper use of hormones at the right time is important to prevent high temperatures from causing flowers to drop. Use a concentration of 15–20 mg/kg of 2,4-D to dip the flowers, ensuring each flower is dipped once. Alternatively, apply 2000 mg/kg of ethephon on the fruit stem when the fruit turns white to promote ripening. In the later stages, if the fruit does not naturally turn red due to low temperatures, apply 2000 mg/kg of ethephon to the green fruit to encourage red color development at room temperature. Tomatoes can be marketed from late December to early January.
Pests and diseases that commonly occur in late autumn tomatoes include downy mildew, brown spot, aphids, and tobacco budworms. For disease prevention, alternate between Daisen zinc diluted 800 times or antivirus ferrous sulfate diluted 600 times, applying it every 7 days for up to 3 times. Aphids can be controlled using tobacco water diluted 40–50 times or Abamectin diluted 3000 times. Tobacco budworms can be managed with a 20% chlorpyrifos solution diluted 2000 times.
To protect against frost, start covering the greenhouse when the temperature drops below 20°C to ensure more than 50% of the fruit remains fresh for the morning market. After covering, monitor the temperature inside the shed. When it reaches 26°C, ventilate promptly and gradually reduce air release as the temperature decreases. When the temperature drops to 5°C, stop releasing air completely.
