On December 20, Sinopec Baling Petrochemical Co., Ltd. successfully launched the first batch of high-quality products from its two-step epoxy resin production line, which has an annual capacity of 40,000 tons of solid epoxy resin. This marks a significant milestone in the company's efforts to enhance its technological capabilities and expand its product portfolio.
The two-step solid epoxy resin process offers several advantages, including a narrow molecular weight distribution, low organic chlorine content, excellent chemical stability, strong adhesion properties, superior dielectric performance, and good flexibility. These features make it highly suitable for use in advanced applications such as industrial adhesives, pipeline corrosion protection, and high-performance coatings.
This project is a key component of Baling Petrochemical’s broader 50,000-ton special epoxy resin initiative, which involves a total investment of 640 million yuan. The specific subproject cost around 100 million yuan, with over 95% of the equipment and systems being locally sourced, showcasing the company's commitment to self-reliance and technological innovation.
Once fully operational, the new production line will increase the annual output of Baling brand solid epoxy resin to 48,000 tons, significantly boosting the company's market presence and competitiveness in the global epoxy resin industry.
