In today's industry, many manufacturers rush to put screw pumps into production without ensuring proper installation or meeting the required conditions. This can lead to serious issues such as damage caused by metal shavings, welding slag, or other debris in the tubing. Unfortunately, this hasty approach not only fails to boost productivity or reduce costs, but it may also result in pump failure, production delays, and even accidents. Therefore, it is crucial to follow the manufacturer’s instructions carefully when installing and operating a screw pump. 1. The suction and discharge pipe diameters must be no smaller than the pump’s inlet and outlet sizes. The suction pipe should be short and free of unnecessary bends to minimize losses. The installation height of the pump must ensure that it does not exceed its allowable suction vacuum height during operation. 2. Pipelines should have proper support structures, and the pump must not bear any load from the piping system. 3. Before installation, the pipeline must be thoroughly cleaned, especially the suction line, which must be free of welding slag to prevent clogging or damage to the pump. 4. Install vacuum and pressure gauges at both the inlet and outlet of the pump to monitor its performance. 5. A filter should be installed on the suction pipeline, with a mesh size between 40-80 and an effective filtration area 20-30 times larger than the pump’s suction diameter. 6. If multiple pumps are connected in parallel on the same pipeline, a check valve must be installed at each pump’s outlet to ensure smooth operation. 7. Place the unit on a foundation using anchor bolts, and tighten them properly after positioning. 8. Ensure the pump is installed in a spacious area for easy maintenance and access. 9. After connecting the pipeline and confirming the motor’s rotation direction, connect the coupling. The outer circumference coaxiality tolerance should be within 0.1mm, and the end face tolerance between the two couplings should not exceed 2mm. 10. After running the unit for 3–4 hours, perform a final inspection. If no abnormalities are found, the installation is considered complete and acceptable. 11. The pipes connected to the pump must be cleaned thoroughly, and no impurities or welding slag should remain inside. These points highlight important considerations during the use of a screw pump. Following the correct procedures not only improves efficiency but also extends the pump’s lifespan and reduces the risk of accidents. Always ensure you adhere to the installation requirements when using the equipment. Please visit: http://kpslgb.cn.gongchang.com/news.html Tag: Screw Pump
