Repairman has special work clothes

Recently, a unit under the 14th Army organized a weapons maintenance competition. At the event, the author noticed that none of the repair technicians were wearing camouflage uniforms; instead, they were all dressed in dark blue work clothes. Cheng Liang, an auto mechanic from the repair workshop, smiled and said, “With these special work clothes, I no longer have to worry about washing my clothes after work.”

Not long ago, Zhu Yunhai, head of the brigade's security department, visited the repair office for an inspection. He found five sets of camouflage uniforms in the laundry area, covered in oil stains. When asked about it, Kong Qingping explained, “During weapon and equipment maintenance, repairmen are constantly exposed to oil and paint. It’s easy to get dirty without realizing it, and regular washing just doesn’t clean it properly.”

After returning to the headquarters, Zhu Yunhai immediately called a meeting with the relevant personnel and decided to tailor special uniforms for each repairman—designed for both summer and winter use. These uniforms are easy to clean, dry quickly, resist dirt, and are highly durable.

Thanks to the new workwear, the repairmen no longer live a life of "changing clothes and lights." Zeng Xiangming, the brigade’s political commissar, stated that since the second phase of the Party’s mass line education campaign began, the brigade’s leadership has been actively engaging with the grassroots, addressing real issues, and making practical improvements. Examples include adding a female restroom at the training ground and replacing insulated lunch boxes for duty personnel. While these changes may seem small, they are like “charcoal in the snow,” bringing warmth and comfort to the soldiers’ hearts.
