Repairman has special work clothes

Recently, a unit under the 14th Army held a weapon maintenance competition. At the event, the author noticed that none of the repair technicians were wearing camouflage uniforms; instead, they were all dressed in dark blue work clothes. Cheng Liang, an auto mechanic from the repair workshop, smiled and said, “These special work clothes mean I no longer have to worry about washing my clothes after work.”

Not long ago, Zhu Yunhai, head of the brigade's security department, visited the repair office for an inspection. He found five sets of camouflage clothes in the laundry area, stained with oil. When questioned by the instructor, Kong Qingping explained, “Repairmen are constantly exposed to oil and paint while maintaining weapons and equipment. It’s easy to get dirty without realizing it, and regular washing just doesn’t clean it properly.”

After returning to the headquarters, Zhu Yunhai immediately called a meeting with the relevant personnel and decided to tailor-make seasonal work uniforms for each repairman—lightweight in summer and warm in winter, designed to be easy to clean, quick-drying, and durable.

With these specialized work clothes, the repairmen finally said goodbye to their “dirty and messy” lifestyle. Zeng Xiangming, the brigade’s political commissar, mentioned that since the launch of the second batch of the Party's mass line education campaign, the brigade’s leadership has been actively visiting the grassroots, addressing real issues on the spot, and caring for the soldiers through small but meaningful actions. For example, they added a female restroom at the training ground and replaced old insulated lunch boxes for duty personnel. While these may seem like minor improvements, they are like “charcoal in the snow”—bringing warmth and comfort to the hearts of the soldiers.
