Be prepared for an earthquake movement called "aftershocks." Although most aftershocks are lower in magnitude than the main earthquake, they may still be large enough to cause more damage or cause weaker buildings to collapse.

After the earthquake, fire, chemical leaks, landslides, reservoir crevasses, and tsunamis may occur, so be sure to listen to radio or television to get more information about emergencies.

Wounded

Check the wounded. Do not try to move injured or comatose people unless they are directly threatened with life from electrical wires, floods, or other harmful substances. Damage in the body is often not easy to see from the outside, but it can be serious enough to be life-threatening. If someone has stopped breathing, be sure to call medical personnel for first aid. If you are trained, immediately perform CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) first aid. Please hold the wound to stop bleeding. If you are trapped, please try to send out various distress signals to attract others' attention.

Inspection facility

Earthquakes can cause exceptional leaks such as gas, electricity or water pipes. If you smell gas: open the window; close the main gas pipeline; do not open or close any electrical appliances or light up; go outside; report the leak to the relevant department; do not enter the building again until the relevant facility personnel confirm the safety.

* If the wire is short-circuited, please cut off the power at the main control box.
* If the water pipe breaks, cut off the water flow at the main control valve.

Other precautions

* Check the chimney and other construction equipment. If it is damaged or broken, do not use it.
* Before using the toilet or toilet, please check whether the sewer is intact.
* Do not touch the fallen wires or objects in contact with them. Report the risk of leakage to relevant personnel.
* Immediately clean up leaked drugs, flammable liquids, and other potentially toxic substances.
* Except for reporting emergencies, please do not use the phone. Replace phones that were damaged in the earthquake.
* Keep away from the accident area. Staying at the scene of the accident can hinder rescue operations and may also cause injury to yourself.
* Cooperate with rescue personnel. Actively respond to the calls of volunteers from police, firefighters, emergency commanders and relief organizations, but do not enter the scene of the accident without receiving assistance requests.

Evacuate family

If your family must be evacuated:

* Leave a note or message at a pre-arranged place or a place where family members can find it, explaining where you are going.
* Place pets in as safe a place as possible, and put enough food and water. Pets are not allowed in designated public shelters.
* Carry vital documents (wills, insurance policies, etc.), emergency power supplies, and spare medicines with you at all times.
