Natural gas hydrates are cage-type crystalline compounds formed by natural gas molecules and water molecules under high-pressure and low-temperature conditions. Theoretically, they can achieve 160-180 times more gas storage capacity, and they are stable under relatively mild conditions (normal pressure, -15°C). Storage is a natural gas storage and transportation technology with great application potential. How to achieve rapid gas hydrate formation and high gas storage is the key to the application of this technology.

The Biogas Industrialization Production and Utilization Engineering Laboratory of Qingdao Bioenergy and Process Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has been devoted to the research of natural gas hydrate accelerators, and has obtained a series of promotion mechanisms for conventional accelerators and the development of new accelerators. Research results.

In a recent study, researchers in the engineering laboratory successfully prepared polymer nanometers by immobilizing active groups of conventional accelerators and nano metal particles on the surface of polymer nanospheres through molecular self-assembly and adsorption-reduction techniques. Ball-bound hydrate highly efficient nanoaccelerating agent. The accelerator can complete the natural gas hydrate formation process in an hour and reach a gas storage volume of 150-160 times at a very low dosage, and successfully solves the defect that conventional accelerators are prone to foaming in the process of hydrate decomposition, and realizes the promotion Multiple recycling of the agent.
